Did you know that nearly 1 in 3 kids in the U.S. is overweight or obese? That's a lot of us who are not taking care of our bodies! But being too heavy isn't really about the way we look. It can cause some serious health problems that we can't see, like Type-2 diabetes and heart disease. Luckily we can take steps to stay healthy and strong.
Making changes to what we eat and what we do may seem hard, but it's really important we try one step at a time. I brought my family and friends along for the ride. I challenge them to eat better and get more active with me. We motivate each other and share victories. So, if I can do it. You can do it, too! Don't give up!
Some easy things I do to stay healthy are drinking lots of water and eating fruits and veggies with every meal. I cut down on TV and computer time and I stay active with my friends. I also make sure to get enough sleep each night so I have lots of energy.
